19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid year, winning just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with former coach his previous coach.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden trophy since the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.
Success also signifies the Russian has secured 21 championships at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His defensive approach and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused some to question if his ability to play at the top level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serve.
The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour victory, took control to create a decider.
The opponent rescued four initial break points in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, he earned victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
