Close to 25,000 Left Without Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Weather Systems
Around twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland woke up without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the state, bringing wind gusts topping 109km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Impact
Residents reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7 centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing power throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews working to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, around 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also faced electricity disruptions after Melbourne recorded its most precipitation in 18 months.
Rescue organizations handled nearly 600 calls for help across the state, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

- Wyndham - nearly 180 emergency requests
At one point on Sunday, more than 28k electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk expected across multiple regions of both states.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
